1. What are the available plans?

Ans. GeoTAX provides the following options:
  • FREE - By selecting this option, user gets 10 free transactions for 14 days.
  • Basic - By selecting this option, user gets 15 transactions on a monthly basis for a price of $10. After exhausting the allotted transactions, user can subsequently make further transactions charged at $0.67 per transaction.
  • Pay as you go - By selecting this option, user gets 100 transactions on monthly basis for a price of $50. After exhausting the allotted transactions, user can subsequently make further transactions charged at $0.50 per transaction. It is also possible to select an annual plan and receive a 10% discount.

2. Is tax lookup for multiple addresses at a time supported in GeoTAX.com?

Ans. Yes, there is an option provided by GeoTAX.com wherein a user can get applicable tax details for multiple addresses simultaneously. User needs to upload a file (CSV) with the list of addresses and GeoTAX determines the applicable taxes pertaining to every address.

3. Is multiple tax lookup supported in the FREE plan?

Ans. No, multiple tax lookup is not supported in FREE plan.

4. What happens if the available transactions are exhausted?

Ans. If the available transactions are used, you can continue performing additional transactions. The additional transactions (overages) are charged at $0.50 per transaction for the monthly plan and $0.45 per transaction for the annual plan. However, no additional transactions (overages) are provided for the Free plan.

5. For multiple tax lookup, how many transactions are deducted?

Ans. For every successful tax lookup pertaining to a valid address in the input file, one transaction is deducted. For example, if the input file has 50 valid addresses, and only 40 addresses return successful tax details, then 40 transactions are deducted from the user`s account. No transactions are deducted for invalid addresses and unsuccessful lookups.

6. In multiple tax lookup, what happens when the number of addresses in the input file exceeds the number of available transactions?

Ans. In this case, the complete input file is processed and tax details for the additional addresses are also generated. However, the additional transactions (overages) are charged at $0.50 per transaction for the monthly plan and $0.45 per transaction for the annual plan.

7. Is it possible to view the number of additional transactions?

Ans. Yes, you can view the number of additional transactions in the Usage Meter on the Tax Search page.

8. Is a bill/invoice provided for the payment?

Ans. Yes, you can receive the detailed invoice for a month in the Billing & Plans section.

9. When does the monthly billing cycle begin?

Ans. The monthly billing cycle begins from the date of purchase of the plan.

10. What happens if the allotted transactions per month are not utilized?

Ans. If you have not used all available transactions for the month, the remaining transactions expire. For paid plans, at the start of each month, your account is credited with 100 transactions.

11. Is it possible to upgrade to another plan?

Ans. Yes, you can upgrade from a free plan to monthly or annual pay as you go plan.

Also, it is possible to upgrade from monthly to annual plan.

12. How can I fulfill my monthly requirements that exceed 100 transactions? (say 200,500,1000, or even more)

Ans. The paid plans support overages. For Basic, you can perform more than 15 transactions charged at $0.67 per transaction. For pay as you go, you can perform more than 100 transactions charged at $0.50 per transaction for monthly plan and $0.45 for annual plan.

13. What should I do, if I accidentally sign up for GeoTax API instead of GeoTax.com?

Ans. Please contact us on geotaxsupport@pb.com to cancel the subscription and get the refund. Also, use https://www.geotax.com to sign up for a paid plan for GeoTAX.

14. I am not able to purchase a paid plan on https://www.geotax.com despite having a Pitney Bowes account?

Ans. In case you have a Pitney Bowes account, please use the Sign In link at the top right of https://www.geotax.com and after successful addition of GeoTAX product and login, please upgrade to paid account from either Tax Search or Billing & Plans page.

15. Why doesn’t the transaction counter reset on the first of the month?

Ans. The transaction counter is reset every month on the day, the sign up was done. For example, if a customer signs up on 5th of a month, subsequently the counter will reset on 5th of every month.
